Traveling Pioneer Exhibit
What was it like to live in Perry County in the pioneer days?
We try to answer that question through a traveling pioneer exhibit the Museum can take on location to area schools, festivals, library, and other venues. The display features five panels that cover an aspect of pioneer living. A sixth display focuses specifically on the history and formation of Perry County.
The display can be set up along a wall in a line, or as stand alone clusters that people can circle around to see each side.
The exhibit also features hands-on activities for children that includes rug weaving with looms, clothes washing with tubs and washboards, carding sheep's wool, preparing and kneading dough, and primitive children toys.
